What Makes It Work

Spherical Design

The rounded form factor reduces turbulence and handles quick lateral boom swings without the swooshing common in tube-shaped windshields.

Two Sizes, One System

65mm for balanced weight on lightweight suspensions with compact condensers. 100mm for stronger wind resistance with longer-bodied boom microphones.

Three Mount Sizes

S (19-20mm), M (21-22mm) and L (25-26mm) rubber bases ensure a secure, rattle-free fit on a wide range of microphone bodies.

Fur Cover Included

What is The Spacer Ball?

A spherical windshield for compact condenser and boom microphones that provides reliable wind protection while preserving audio detail.

What's the difference between the 65mm and 100mm?

The 65mm is lighter and optimized for compact condensers on suspensions (DPA 4018C, Schoeps CCM/CMC, Sennheiser MKH 8000 series). The 100mm offers more enclosure volume and stronger wind resistance for longer-bodied boom mics (DPA 4011, 4015, 4018A/B, Sennheiser MKH 50).

How do I choose the right mount size?

Measure your microphone body diameter. S fits 19–20mm, M fits 21–22mm, and L fits 25–26mm. Check the compatibility chart for your specific mic model.

How is this different from The Spacer Bubble?

The Spacer Bubble is a rubber spacer ring that creates an air gap on shotgun mics. The Spacer Ball is a complete spherical windshield — with mesh, foam core and rubber base — designed specifically for compact condenser and boom microphones.

Does it come with a fur cover?

Yes, every Spacer Ball includes a long-haired fur slip-on for added protection in windy or fast-moving conditions.

Can I use it indoors?

Absolutely. The mesh-only configuration (without fur) provides minimal coloration while protecting against air conditioning drafts and handling noise.

Will it handle quick boom swings?

Yes — the spherical design specifically reduces the swooshing sound caused by fast lateral movements, making it ideal for active boom work.

What's included in the box?

One Spacer Ball (size and mount selected at checkout), one long-haired fur cover, and one mesh storage bag.
