What Makes It Work

Blocks Wind, Not Sound

The unique bubble design creates a calm pocket of air around your mic capsule. Wind noise disappears while dialogue stays crystal clear — no muffling, no loss of detail.

Stays Secure All Day

A precision-fit elastic opening grips your mic firmly without damaging it. Once it's on, it stays on — even during fast-paced shoots. Four sizes ensure a snug fit for 50+ lavalier models.

Blends Into Any Shot

Six natural, low-sheen colors help the Windbubble disappear against skin, hair, and fabric. Pick a shade that matches wardrobe — or go black to hide in shadows.

Built for Professional Use

Multi-layer fur construction gradually slows wind for superior protection. The same design trusted on film sets, broadcast studios, and documentary productions worldwide.

How to Mount

Step 1: Find the Opening

Locate the two small tabs on the back — the opening is between them. Use your thumb and forefinger to gently spread the entry point (don't pull the tabs).

Step 2: Slide the Mic In

Insert your mic capsule from the side at a slight angle. Push it in until you feel it settle inside the bubble.

Step 3: Pull Back Slightly

Retract the mic 2-3mm from the inner mesh. This creates the "dead air bubble" that makes the wind protection work. Mic touching the mesh = wind noise. Small gap = silence.

Wind vs. Windbubble

What does wind noise actually sound like - and how well does the Windbubble block it? In this test, we blast a lavalier mic with a high-powered fan, with and without protection. The difference speaks for itself.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

How do I know which size fits my microphone?

Each Windbubble size is designed for specific microphone diameters. Check our size guide to find your mic model — most popular lavaliers from DPA, Sennheiser, Røde, and Sanken are listed. If your mic isn't listed, contact us and we'll help you find the right fit.

Will the Windbubble affect my audio quality?

No. The fur and mesh construction is acoustically transparent, so your mic's natural frequency response stays intact. You get full wind protection without any muffling or loss of clarity.

How do I mount the Windbubble correctly?

Spread the opening gently with your thumb and forefinger, then slide your mic capsule in at a slight angle. Once it's inside, pull back 2–3mm so the capsule isn't touching the inner mesh — this "dead air bubble" is what makes the wind protection work. See our mounting guide for a video walkthrough.

What's the difference between the original Windbubble and the Windbubble PRO?

The original Windbubble works with both omnidirectional and directional lavaliers. The Windbubble PRO is designed only for omnidirectional mics and includes a rubber mount for a more secure fit and better wind protection in extreme conditions. If you're unsure which to choose, contact us.

Which color should I choose?

Pick a color that matches the wardrobe or skin tone of your talent. Black is the most versatile and hides well in shadows. For lighter clothing or fair skin, try Beige or Off-White. We offer 6 colors so you can blend the Windbubble into almost any shot.

Can I wash my Windbubble?

Yes, but gently. Rinse with lukewarm water and a tiny drop of mild soap if needed. Reshape the fur with your fingers and let it air dry completely before using again. Avoid wringing, heat, or machine washing — this can damage the fur and elastic opening.

Will it fall off during a shoot?

No. The elastic opening is designed to grip your mic securely without damaging it. Once mounted correctly, Windbubbles stay put — even during fast-paced shoots or active talent movement. Just make sure you're using the right size for your mic.

How long does a Windbubble last?

With proper care, Windbubbles last for years of regular use. The fur is durable and maintains its wind protection properties over time. We include a metal storage tin to protect it when not in use. All products are backed by our 2-year warranty.

Does it work in heavy wind?

The original Windbubble handles light to moderate wind effectively. For extreme wind conditions, we recommend the Windbubble PRO which features a rubber mount and optional foam core insert for maximum protection.

Can I use it together with a Lav Concealer?

Yes. The Windbubble attaches to your mic capsule, while the Lav Concealer mounts separately to clothing. Many sound professionals use both — the Concealer for secure mounting and rustle reduction, and the Windbubble for wind protection. They're designed to work together.
